It used to be a simple world for the small business. Just produce a printed catalog or flyer, advertise in a local publication. Or, if your resources were unlimited, maybe a local television campaign. Today's options are greater and the traditional options are far less effective, considering the scope of the global marketing.
One thing absolutely required for today's marketing is a professional presence on the web that backs up and supplements your print or broadcast efforts. Today's web customer wants easy to navigate, simple fast sites. A site has to be functional, informative and yet, to a certain degree, entertaining.
BACK TO THE RESULTS CONCEPT
The backbone of any campaign is a consistant, recognizable positioning across all medium. A hodge podge, shot-gun approach is money poorly spent. Take the time to plan a print and web approach that complements and points to each complimentary medium for exposure.
Your web site has to be informative, supplementing what your print campaign cannot accomplish, and your print campaign has to point to your web site (with style) for a broader perspective of your business.
Catalogs that can be distributed in print, CD ROM or downlaodable from your site is ideal. A cohesive look and presentation is imperitive and effective. Again, consistant presentation is preferred.
